Itinerary

8:00 AM – Pick-up from Hotel in Haputale

• Private transport to begin your scenic exploration of the region.
• Enjoy the drive through mist-covered hills and expansive tea estates.

9:00 AM – Visit Lipton’s Seat (Approx. 1.5 hours)

• Activity: Head to Lipton’s Seat, one of Sri Lanka’s most famous viewpoints, located on the top of a hill.
• Highlights: Take in the sweeping views of the surrounding valleys, mountains, and the southern coast on clear days. You’ll also see the lush tea plantations below. This spot was once frequented by Sir Thomas Lipton, the famous tea magnate.

10:30 AM – Tour of Dambatenne Tea Factory (Approx. 1 hour)

• Activity: Visit the Dambatenne Tea Factory, where you’ll learn about the traditional tea production process, from plucking to processing.
• Highlights: Watch the tea leaves being processed and enjoy a tea tasting session, sampling some of the finest Ceylon teas. The factory’s surroundings offer great photo opportunities of the plantation.

12:00 PM – Lunch at a Local Restaurant

• Menu: Enjoy a traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry meal, served with a variety of vegetable dishes, sambol, and dhal. You can also enjoy fresh fruit juices or traditional Sri Lankan beverages.

1:00 PM – Visit to Adisham Bungalow (Approx. 1 hour)

• Activity: Explore the colonial-era Adisham Bungalow, set in the hills of Haputale.
• Highlights: The bungalow offers beautiful gardens, a serene atmosphere, and excellent views of the surrounding tea plantations. You can take a peaceful walk through the gardens or relax in the tranquil surroundings.

2:30 PM – Visit to the Buddha Statue in Haputale (Approx. 30 minutes)

• Activity: Head to the Buddha Statue located atop a hill near Haputale town.
• Highlights: Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the valley below. The large statue adds a spiritual touch to the scenic surroundings, and it’s a great spot for reflection and photography.

3:15 PM – Visit to Thangamale Bird Sanctuary (Approx. 1 hour)

• Activity: Head to the Thangamale Bird Sanctuary, a peaceful spot for birdwatching.
• Highlights: Enjoy a nature walk through the sanctuary and spot various bird species, butterflies, and other wildlife. The cool climate and quiet atmosphere make it a relaxing experience.

4:15 PM – Return to Haputale

• End of Tour: Drive back to your hotel in Haputale, taking in the last of the scenic views along the way.
